Napa was absolutely amazing. By far the best vacation I have had in a really long time. And its a bummer that it is now back to reality and responsibility. But who says that I can’t reminisce on the past week.
A week ago today, the BF and I woke up at 5 o’clock in the morning and hit the road for our 8 hour drive. We were able to watch the sunrise and surprisingly flew through LA avoiding all the morning traffic.
Once outside of the city, it was a beautiful drive.
After four hours of driving we finally hit our half way point in Cambria. When I was growing up my grandparents and uncle had beach houses in Cambria and I have so many childhood memories in this tiny town. We drove around for a little bit, had breakfast, and then got back on the road.We saw a lot of cows and believe it or not even zebras. I tried so hard to get a picture of the zebras but the BF was getting all Jeff Gordon on me.
We took the coastline all the way up to get to Northern California and that drive alone made me appreciate the state that I live in. Seeing how the forests align the coast was breathtaking. It makes you realize how beautiful California can be outside of the city and suburban life.
We had to stop and take it all in. Don’t mind my winded road-trip hair.
After a 8 hour drive and listening to our road trip mixes two times each, we finally made it. We stayed at The Meritage Resort and Spa which was such an elegant hotel. Once in the room we had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. One of many.
Once we were settled in, we walked around the hotel and explored the hotel’s private vineyard.
Day two in Napa will be reminisced tomorrow.
