This past weekend I had one of those experiences that really opened my eyes. One of those experiences where you thank God that a situation did not turn out worse than it actually did. An experience that makes you realize how precious life is and how quickly it can be taken from you or a loved one. Counting my blessing.
My goal this week is to appreciate the finer things in life. I am lucky to have those family members and loved ones by side and I am blessed to have the life I have, even though it isn’t always gravy. We often take for granted the great things that life has to offer because they are so clouded by negativity.
Here is my motto for this week:
It could be worse.
You could not have shelter to come home to.
You could be struggling for your next meal.
You could not have the ability to do everyday activities, like walk, write, speak, or see.
You could not have the loved ones that are currently by your side.
You could be struggling from pain or disease.
I could be a lot worse.
This week before your boss or coworkers irritate you, before you begin to curse over road-rage, before you bicker with a certain someone, before life gets you down try to remember that it could be worse.
Count your blessings and kiss your loved ones.
Have a great week, it’s almost half way over, and keep your head held high.
This scene never gets old:
