Think Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This post was supposed to be published a while ago, but let’s face it life has been a little busy these last couple weeks, so hey better late than never.

Even though Breast Cancer Awareness Month is half way over, it’s never too late to load up on Breast Cancer Awareness gear and help contribute to the cause. Almost every woman I know, has had someone in their life be diagnosed with breast cancer. A cousin of mine lost her battle with breast cancer at the age of 23 just when her life was beginning. This month is dedicated to you Terry, and all the people who breast cancer has affected.

The Facts

In recent statistics performed by breastcancer.org, one in eight women, about 12%, will develop breast cancer and for women in the U.S. breast cancer death rates are higher than those of any other cancer, besides lung cancer.

However, one very positive and power statistic stated that there were more than 2.6 million breast cancer survivors in the US in 2011. Let’s keep this statistic growing.

  1. This is awesome Jenna! It’s really scary how most everyone knows someone or knows someone who knows someone who had breast cancer. And I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. My mom’s close friend is a breast cancer survivor and a friend’s mom at work is going through it now. Raising awareness and supporting the cause is SO important! I love that OPI nailpolish, I didn’t know about PInk of Hearts prior to reading this post. Awesome roundup!
